Challenge Modeler Roles

Updated over a year ago

Users and roles / permissions are managed in the Team Card. Owners are responsible for user role management in a Challenge document. Owners can set a user's role / permissions when adding them in the Invitations Tab or after they have been added in the Access Tab. See below for a list of standard roles for a Challenge Document and related details on what rights each role has:

  • Owner - Creator of the Challenge document or a user that was given the role of Owner by another Owner; an Owner has full rights and privileges to edit, clone, or delete the Challenge document and invite, modify, or remove other users (except other Owners); the Owner role can be given in the Access Tab once the user has accepted their invitation to collaborate on the Challenge document

  • Editor - Allowed to edit and clone the Challenge document; an Editor cannot modify other users' roles or permissions

  • View Only - Can view the Challenge document but cannot make any edits

  • Reviewer - Same privileges as a View Only user but with a different Role label

  • Business Sponsor - Same privileges as a View Only user but with a different Role label

  • Technical Sponsor - Same privileges as a View Only user but with a different Role label

The different roles in the Challenge Modeler allow Owners to manage transparency and edits / changes to the Challenge document. The Reviewer, Business Sponsor, and Technical Sponsor role labels are available for access transparency if it is desirable to have individuals such as executives, external advisors, or technical sponsors be able to view a document and monitor its progress (without being able to make changes).

By default, only Owners are allowed to manage users' rights and privileges, including inviting others to collaborate on the Challenge document. However, an Owner can grant any user the ability to invite others to the Challenge Document. To do this, an Owner needs to check the "Invite Others" checkbox when inviting a user on the Invitations Tab or when managing users' access on the Access Tab.
