Current Approach Card

Updated over a year ago

The Current Approach Card aims to describe the people, processes, tools and approach currently used to cope with the challenge.

An example of a Current Approach might be: "To manage our product demand, we have 3 demand planners in our North America HQ office who each spend 6-8 hours per week managing the produce demand plan using data from SAP that is exported to Excel."

Hints:

Remember to describe the current process ‘as-is’ today with inputs from the people who actually do the work. This is the only way to make sure the process hasn't changed over time - especially when people don't always follow "the rules."

This is not the place to start imagining how a new process or solution might work. The Current Approach is part of your Challenge Definition and is about the challenge, not the solution!

As you move through the Challenge Definition components, you may want to capture some ideas or thoughts on a Solution, or potential improvements. Despite this being about the challenge (rather than the solution), head over to the Notes & Attachments card to jot them down so you don't forget them later.
